| i miss it. Living in Alaska, we ate moose, caribou, Sitka blacktail deer, Dahl sheep, and only occasionally black bear - as long as they had not been into the fish. Of those, the very best, hands down, was the mountain sheep - and not only because I carried it down out of the mountains on my back. The caribou was good, but I wouldn't want to eat it every day. The blacktail deer was very good - much better, IMHO, than the local deer here. The black bear was ok - once in awhile. But, the moose was something that I could eat every day of the year. More flavor than beef - by far - but again, a flavor that I never tired of. After moose, beef for some time tasted pretty bland. | |
