Aberdeen MS | I was running the field cultivator with visibility of about 1/4 mile due to a snow squall, the ground was almost white. That was a Saturday.
On Thursday, I was planting in 70 degree temps and dry ground. Thunderstorm rolled in about 3 that afternoon.
Next day of ability to get back into the field was May 23. The rain just didn't quit.
One part of the field wasn't worked the previous fall, and I tried a 15 acre parcel for strip tilling. Hired a local to strip it. Got 8 acres stripped and quit as it was just mud and plugged twice a swath. That afternoon I put the FC into the worked portion of the field with the top 2-3" dry, running the FC just deep enough to level the field.
edited to add:
For those that don't me from over the years. This was in SC MN about 25 miles from jtp where I used to farm before I retired and moved to MS.
