I don't know where in Mn you're from, but I'm not that far from Mn. Tillage has been reduced significantly in this area over the last 10 years. You still see a chisel plowed bean field now and then, but it's become the exception. There's still a perception that you have to till at least once in the spring and 99% do it. But, we bought a JD 750 where they widened the row unit spacing. We tried no tilling with our white 5100 and results weren't consistent. With the 750 we've raised our second best bean crop ever this year and we went 2 months with very little rain. Also, on our high PH and irrigated soils, we have gone to strip till corn and no till beans and that's so far given us our best corn ever, hands down. Strip till on heavy soil is awesome.
