They were 30 inch beans. Weed control wasn't an issue.

There was a number of guys that tried full notill here back in the late 90s/early 2000s. After about 4 years they all went back to tillage. The ground got hard and would puddle water very easily.

I know notill is supposed to mellow the soil, but planting and harvesting operations seem to tighten up the soil. Once again, that is here. Neighbor has been doing notill triticale/soybeans for 5 years now. It is some lighter ground with slightly steep hill on one side. He called asking if I could work part of it this fall.

I would love to try some striptill but there is no way a machine like that is in the budget for the size of my operation. And no one in the area has one.

How do notill guys incorporate fertilizer?
