Last time we tried not tilling bean stubble it took 3 days longer to get in that field the next spring vs fall tilled fields.

It doesn't take much, used a 330 turbotill last fall and that worked good but almost leaves it too smooth. Chisel plow leaves it more rough to prevent erosion.

Yes, you do see some black in the snow if there is a strong wind and not much snow cover in the field, but it looks worse than it is because black shows up well on white. You aren't going to move much dirt when it's frozen solid.

Another reason is guys who apply fall fertilizer want it incorporated.
