Subject: Variety selection

Variety turn-over has made it extremely difficult for me to select hybrids. We used to have a couple years to evaluate hybrids on our own farms before we replaced the old standbys. But with the rapid turn-a-round of new varieties, by the time I decide I like a hybrid, it is retired with something new in its place, unproven on my soils.

Thanks to all of you that replied. I talked with a Monsanto Rep today that stated many of their new hybrids are flex ear type. Several of Pioneer's new numbers are also. This is hopeful for some of us.
