Soil-life, I think it's a LOT about volume of sales per acre.

Flip37, I think we need the canopy that >25,000 plants provide for weed control. BTW, I think that getting big yields out of 36,000 plants or higher, also requires near perfect conditions.

I believe that the seed company that presents farmers with a hybrid that produces the same yield at 25 to 28 final stand and flexes well if it needs to is going to have a VERY popular hybrid for many of us.
