So then why does a corn plant have potential to put on 8 ears. And when you find one plant with 2 ears on it the second one usually has more kernals on it? Would it not make more yield at 28,000 pop. with 2 ears than 34,000 pop. with one? Like somebody else says it.s about harvestable ears per acre.
