We need a good government meat inspection system! I have a choice of several WI state inspected or USDA inspected processors to use. They are both very thorough - and needed - if the consumer is going to have confidence in our products. Very little difference in cost. Differences are mostly caused by size of the facility and options such as vacuum packing. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater!
jim you said government inspections are needed so the consumer can have confidence in our product. You haven’t told me how the government inspections adds confidence. Did you misspeak? How does the blue usda shield on a product that hasn’t been inspected add confidence? I say it’s a fraud. Brazil for example is rife with bribery and deceit. When the usda rolls it’s stamp on the meat though the consumer thinks it’s actually been looked at by a govt inspector that’s American and has the American consumers interest in mind? Is that true Jim or not?
