Beresford, SD
I'd gladly ID every animal if it added to our bottom line! There is plenty trim to go around, kill cows would go up to the point the packer would start grinding better cuts to fill the void adding value to all carcasses no matter what it's grade! There is no need for meat coming out of South America to be served to my children in a school lunch! I realize it's a double edge sword....imports and exports and I'm not knowledgable enough to know who gets ours and who most of our comes from.......but I feel if the consumer knew where thier beef comes from it sure wouldn't hurt our beef prices. Blending would come to a halt and the when that happens the consumer would finally know what burger is suppose to taste like and be willing to pay extra for it! There is a reason why friends and family want to buy burger out of my deep freeze when they could just stop at the store in town........it tastes better!
