I guess I don't see the political in the answer I gave - nothing there to mislead or deflect.
I don't recall saying that to Mac, and I don't know why I would - I haven't tried to hide the fact from anyone. I have had partial ownership of pens in feedyards of friends for most of the last 12 years, but I don't have any cattle on feed today. During that time, I was responsible for sourcing the cattle, dealing with the bank, doing the risk management, and making the selling decisions, as well as doing the nutrition work, so it was more than just an investment.

To me the second question is very easy: because we are able to cash in on the demand for U.S. beef in foreign countries; and we come out ahead.
