Looks like that to me too...that your wife wants her family to succeed over you and her own family. Wonder why???
Not sure what I would do. Maybe go talk to your father-in-law so you don't get into a family bind on this one. See if their interested? If not, I'd say go over there yourself and tell your wife her family didn't want it.
