The subject of the original post kinda sums up the problem. In marriage, there shouldn't be a "my" side and "her" side. After the vows are said, it's a "we" game. Now, the wife may be in the wrong by putting her parents above her married interest. Or, perhaps she has good reason for advising as she has. Those of us behind the keyboard don't have enough information to know.
In the years since my father died, my mother has made some business decisions that were not in her own financial best interest, but avoided creating family rifts. She considers those choices very wise investments. There are a lot of things more important than money. | |
