Women want security.
If you farm that ground you are taking on additional risk. That might end up affecting her security.
If her dad farms it, you maintain your ability to provide for her while daddy takes the risk. If he succeeds, he is able to give more to his kids (especially his girl).
She may not be thinking it consciously, but it's part of the makeup of most women.
