Subject: RE: D.O.T. Fuel inspection for colored fuel .

North Dakota
A couple of years ago they did a check here. All four roads into town had two patrol cars and couple of inspectors. They stopped every car and truck for a quick inspection, rolled every truck over portable scales. They caught a few that were overweight and asked politely if they could dip the tanks. If you refused, you sat while they did a full inspection of your truck and you waited in line until it was your turn. At that time the oil drilling was going full bore and you could have 20 trucks in front of you. If they thought you were being ornery or had a reason to refuse they had a judge on the phone to get a search warrant. I never heard for sure what the fines were but they did catch a few.

I find it odd that the ones that complain the most about getting fined for running red fuel are the BTO's around here.
