A mean HOUSEHOLD income of 55K is much different then an individual income of 33k. From posts in the past it's fairly evident that the cost of living is much lower in the southern half of the US. Maybe that's driven by higher utility costs in the north, higher state taxes(??), local job market . I know people who 'can't live" on 80k a year, and I know people that live and put money away for retirement on 30k.
Don't know what I expect, just venting I guess!
