| I bought a new hp laptop about a month ago so I didn't have to use my dell work computer for messing around on the internet and pics and music. When I was shopping around, a tech told me the biggest change I would see going from xp pro on my work computer to vista on the new one is how long it takes to bootup. After it boots up, everything is gravy. It may be vista is causing your slow bootup, but something else is slowing down your other functions.
Also, when I bought it, the tech went in and removed all the temporary software and bs that comes on computers from the manufacture. He said all that junk will do is slow it down and when you try to remove it yourself, if you don't do it in a particular order, your windows will not work properly. | |
