Maybe you shouldn't lump all fringe areas together then. I am pretty sure western Kansas is a fringe area, and they are one of the strongest basis areas in the country. Many fringe areas probably make more per acre farming corn than a lot of the corn belt. I am in eastern Kansas, which is the fringe of the fringe, and we make more money growing corn than any other crop.
I know where you are. You see where I was talking about the places with bad basis or did you skip over that part?


Looking at farmdoc, most of the IL regions basis on corn has been running .32-.45 UNDER. So all those guys languishing in the .60 under areas aren't exactly all that far behind you...

running a penny over here. Where are these 32 under bids at?
