Subject: RE: Trying to Understand the thinking behind this

SW Minnesota
I'm a farmer, like most on here. I don't farm in a fringe area. I won't take any acreage out of production because I have a family to support and this is my current means. I agree, when things get tough, you get a job in town and you find a way to make it work out. By not growing 10% of my ground, I put myself in a hole this year when I don't need to. You are correct that the fringe acres will be the first to go, because they won't be able to make it. I'm not referring to that map, I'm referring to the ones that everyone knows can't produce above the cost of production.

I'm not trying to be cocky. I'm just saying that I'm not going to leave my productive land out of production so others that are farming ground that shouldn't be in production can make it.
