Reminds me of a story Dad tells about when he was in college in 1970-71. His friends daily driver was a 55 Chevy with a 396 and an automatic, opposed to his hopped up 427 55 with a 4 speed race car lol. Anyway, a bunch of them were headed to Omaha in the street 55 and something minor happened to it, and whatever town they were in didnt have a parts store but had a Chevy dealership, so while they were waiting for the car to get fixed they were just hanging out in the showroom, salesman came up and asked if he could help them, and one of the others in the group said "yep, my friend here (Dad) wants to buy one of those Elephant stompers, ( they were also an Opel dealer and it was something to do with the ads for the Opel GTs) how many of them do you have?" Salesman replied proudly " We have 23 of them on the lot." Friend replies with "Great! Start bringing them up 2 at a time" Salesman turns and starts to find another salesman to bring the cars up, and thinks for a second, then asks, "Why do you want them 2 at a time? He can only drive 1" Friend replies, "Were gonna race em till we find the fastest one on the lot!!" Salesman said some not nice things and told them to get the hell out, and same friend replies that "we cant until the car gets fixed" lol.
