I don't know either, but we had a Chevy Blazer 4x4 that was shipped with no oil in the front drive. Bought it in the summer, so didn't learn about the issue till mid winter when the snow was deep and kicked it into 4by. That was fun. 



I think all those fluids are supposed to be checked at the dealer before delivery. You have to remove the skid plate on my 2003 Blazer to check the fluid, I'm pretty sure it wasn't checked before delivery.

When I checked the rear axle on my pickup, I had to use a 3/8's inch breaker bar and a cheater to get the plug loose. I don't think it was checked either.
