1 hour east of ol cheyenne
Difference is the engine has an oil pressure gauge or idiot light. Front diff doesn't. All fluids should be checked at first oil change on a 4x4 vehicle. Not real uncommon for a gearbox or differential to be shipped dry.
I know of a local trucker that bought a new freightshaker about 15 years ago the rear diff went out in about 150 miles was dry! Warranty they put a whole new axle assembly under the truck. They were cautious because of a liability issue arising from it like a wheel bearing failure killing someone.
