Rolla, ND | I think a lot of the difference likely is where is the individyual in their insulin resistance. If highly resistant, a production of insulin in response to protein will stop the fat burning.
Later on, as one get’s their sensitivity back a short miderate rise in insulin isn’t going to shut down the keto. Plus, over time, your body has upregulated it’s fat burning.
So protein often causes problems for people starting out. I think because those working with it see that, they get kind of stuck on it.
I don’t think it’s much problem after awhile.
Much like a person starting keto who’s used to carbs might have to be very strict, biut later likely can freely eat the high fiber vegetables and add beans back in and so on.
