Scranton | I worked for FS in nw iowa that year. SO many had no N and even no chemical down. Once the rain started, it rarely stopped. So we were dribbling 28 on with a JD hiboy. I did thousands of acres. I remember one field along a major hiway that the farmer said should go. I unfolded and took off only to find mud 100 yards down the fence...so I did a big turn, barely moving and hoping to get out...I left the boom on as I made this big circle. You could see this big green circle in a field of short yellow corn all summer. Guys were begging us to drop spray for weeds...but we had to serve our current customers first, which was even impossible. | |
