| The acceleration likely wont continue at this rate, it may level off, but I somewhat believe in the increased yields. They may be a bit highnon this year, but mainly due to poor harvest conditions. You have to remeber profitability for beans has been great the last 5 years or so, and so to me a the focus has been on them to increas yields, more so than corn. Think about fungicide alone; 5 years ago 10% nationally acres done? Compared to 50% now Im betting? Right there is likely 2-3bpa bump (at least) on those acres. Also how many farms have bought another planter and focused on planting beans earlier; because there is a lot of research proving increased yields with earlier planting. Soybeans used to be an "after thoguht", in a lot of areas but because of $, they have became a focus, even more than corn imo. | |
