Suspicions confirmed.
Simple linear regression of most recent 57 years of UNEDITED USDA final soybean yield data does not support USDA’s recent acceleration of US soybean trendline soybean yield. Instead, it projects US soybean 2018 trend yield of 46. 6 bushels/acre with standard deviation of 2.5 bushels/acre (chart attached).
