E. Kansas | I sold a large tractor part to a guy from out of state. He paid for it, and was going to pick it up next time through my area in a couple months. I told him that was ok, keep me posted. It was over a year after he purchased it that he finally picked it up, and that was only after I had reminded him several times to pick it up and finally told him he would need to remove it by a certain day or I would sell it and he would lose both his money and the item. There were no health issues, etc that prevented him from picking it up, as I saw his posts online about his trips all around the US getting stuff during that time.
I've learned now that when I sell something, part of the terms of the sale are that it must be gone from my place by a certain date, or the item becomes all mine again the following day and I will resell it. I hate to deal that way, but when you've sold stuff, it needs to leave in a reasonable amount of time. Most guys have no problem with those terms, but seems like some will just let stuff set indefinitely.
