The dealer can hold it for you to come look at because he’s a dealer. He likely has the contact info for anyone else interested and if you say no, one phone call has it sold to the next guy.
You don't have to be a dealer to get contact information. You just ask for it from anyone who calls after you have some one scheduled to come and look at something. I tell them I will let them know either way if it sells or not. And I do that. I think it is common courtesy. This system has worked well for me and the other buyers seem to appreciate the call letting them know if it is still available or not.
