I think it's an extremely strong statement to call it a canard.

Not a lot of hairy vetch planted after broccoli in the heart of the corn belt. Nowhere close to enough manure available for all acres.

Look at how morbidity, mortality, and industrial productivity improved after synthetic nitrogen became available.

Possible with extreme disruptions in the world economy, yes. Probable, likely, nah.

Vastly increased grain and protein prices wouldn't be good for feeding the lowest income populations.


I have nothing against organic but buy based on price and value and while it isn't there for me, I'm glad someone is filling that niche.
