Yes many if not all those things could have been approved of in some society someplace but when things that are found to harm others they are usually not approved of by society.
And if you want to go back to the different things accepted in marriage in the past that has been jettisoned by people today you will much of it had to do with the rights of others, usually women, being trampled by over bearing men who wanted to tell everyone else how to live.
Your problem is with gay marriage where you want to tell consenting adults what they may not do when they are doing no one any harm.
That is where society has finally caught up with allowing people their rights as it finally did with women in marriage although some religions still persecute women and force them into loveless marriages too. | |
