Buxton ND
Farmer that comment from John Block was a copy and paste that I found on Google while researching the "Russia Grain Agreement" and I it saved and backed up in my computer files. I wanted to know point blank how Jimmy Carter put the grain embargo on to start with,,,I ending up finding the entire Russia Grain Agreement. Its amazed what one can find with Google. Here's another tid bit i have saved

This was the first time the United States had used its ''food
weapon!' against the Soviet Union. In doing so, President Carter
exercised his authority under the Export Administration Act of
1979, as amended, to curtail U.S. exports for foreign policy and
national security reasons. According to that Act, the Executive
must receive the consent of the Congress for foreign policy
embargoes, but has authority independently to curtail trade when
national security is at stake.
for both reasons. In accordance with the Act, Congress had 30
days in which to veto the action, but did not do so, implicitly
expressing its support of the ltembargo.l' The policy is to continue
indefinitely, or until the Soviets withdraw their troops from
Afghanistan, or until the curtailment is rescinded by U.S. policymakers.

Now back to me,Ronald Regan lifted the embargo shorty after, but the damage WAS ALL READY DONE. World production increases, ***MORE then the rising demand*** even when we had very low prices we still COULD NOT export it.................................. The lowest I ever heard anyone sell HRS was $2.14 in the mid 80's,and guess what he was "forced to sell to make his house payment".....................................

*****Anyone selling to make payments today ?*****

I have a friend right now,,,,,hauling wheat I would guess for that SAME REASON, he's been a big spender........................

9180 yes I WAS fairly heavy sold for 2014 but have since bankers those profits,,,NOT spending them.
2 days ago I locked everything in could + in on Navy Beans for 3 years which is my main cash crop. Corn and soybeans for me is a small rotationally crops to spread out my rotation on dry beans.
