South Dakota | OK Roy, I made an error on breeding date. I went to work on that end without checking gestation table. September 22-23 breeding gives you early July calves, not end of July. I used to calve my cows in the winter some years ago. I will have cows again but calve in May-June. Never in the winter! July definitely is too late to start calving. I am glad you watch for details. Total pounds OF calve, not PER calve make you money. And then you account for feed and labor cost.
