Once you start at the railroad and don't pay into social security for a while you are basically married to that job at a certain point because you will have no retirement safety net.
That is absolutely false!!!!
If you pay into RR retirement then quit and get a job and pay into social security it all gets figured out at retirement.
If at say 65 you retired and your monthly SS check is bigger than what your RR check would be, the RR retirement board pays the money you put in, to SS.
If your RR retirement check is bigger, your SS check still gets sent but you might pay more taxes on it.
To think any retirement money just dissappears is just dumb. |
