Iowa | In my experience, paid sick days are just a guarantee that employees will lie about being sick in order to use those days. I prefer to just add those sick days as vacation days and let them use them as they wish. At least then nobody has to lie about it.
I have no idea what the railroads vacation policy is so this may be useless to this conversation.
I do agree that employees could just vote with their feet, plenty if jobs out there. They must be treated well enough that they don't want to leave. | |
