Once you start at the railroad and don't pay into social security for a while you are basically married to that job at a certain point because you will have no retirement safety net.

I doubt they go on strike. Back in August when they were going to strike even the office workers in Omaha were going to strike with them. UP gave them all a bonus at the office and they have no interest in helping the rail line workers out now. No solidarity no strike.


if you think SS is a safety net I think you have never paid enough interest on barrowed money

SS won't pay a 1/4 of my interest per month
