Aren't the electric fuel pump relays signal wired thru the oil pressure sender to prevent running a fuel injected engine without oil pressure? Story sounds a bit fishy to me. Maybe someone shifted it wrong, if a stick, causing it to toss the rods. Like 3rd rapped out back to 2nd! Instead of 4th , ouch!
