Subject: RE: Salesman of the year, you got any good stories?

I drove 150 miles to look at a head trailer. I made an offer a little less than asking price. The guy told me he already had a buyer for it at his asking price. I suggested if he had an offer at that price perhaps he should have sold it to him.
Best salesman I ever saw though. The local dealer was rebuilding an old baler. Probably to get rid of old parts. Any way I was a young man and would help if I was around. I figured I would learn something. Anyway when it was done I was looking at buying it to do custom work. Of course it was all rebuilt, even if it was ancient. The owner finally told me I could rent it for a week to try it out. So much a bale, I think .07. I took the baler home. Later that day or the next a friend that was in the business had his baler go down big time. I rented his tractor and baled hay like crazy for a week. When I went to deal on the baler the rent would have been quite a bit more than the asking price.
