Subject: RE: Salesman of the year, you got any good stories?

Chippewa County, MN

15 years ago a friend and I were each looking to buy a 650 dual purpose motorcycle.  We stopped at a Suzuki dealer to see what they had.  The salesman then quoted us a price.  We both thought it was a little high so we told him we'd think about it.  As we were walking out the sales manager asked if we got taken care of.  We told him we were going to think about it but thought the price was a little high.  He asked what price we were given.  After telling him he huffed at what a great price that was and that we'd have to be idiots to walk out on a deal like that.  We kept walking.........out the door to a Kawasaki dealer where we each bought a KLR 650 for $300 less than what the Suzuki dealer wanted.

This winter I was pricing pickups.  Went to our usual Chevy dealer for a price. The salesman told me he'd get a price to me shortly.  With the end of the year coming, I was wanting to get something done.  I called him two days later and was told that the he had been gone a day and that he and the boss hadn't had a chance to get together.  He got a price to me a day later.  In the meantime, I had talked to a GMC dealer as I am having a hard time getting used to the Chevy style.  GMC had several features which I thought was really nice.  I called the salesman on New Years Eve day and to see if Chevy came with those features or if they were even available.   He wasn't sure but he'd check and call me back.  Today is February 23 and I'm still waiting on a call back.  Ok, not really.  I went with the GMC.
