NW Iowa		Do cattle buyers count as salesmen? Fifty years ago my dad had two different cattle buyers looking at a yard of fats dad had ready to go. I will call them buyer #1 and buyer #2. Both buyers looked At the cattle on separate days and both said they would call back with a bid. They were not on the farm at the same time ever. Dad kind of favored buyer #1 so dad told my mom if buyer #1 calls with a bid while dad was out of the house to accept the bid. Buyer #1 called and mom sold the cattle to him. Mom was a little slow getting the phone back on the hook and she heard a call being dialed so she put the receiver back to her ear and listened in. The call she heard was buyer #1 telling buyer #2 “I got them bought”. Dad never sold cattle to either buyer again.
