When our youngest child was a year or so out of college she decide she was gonna buy a better vehicle, she decided she was gonna do business at a dealer that we typically use, which was all fine and dandy.

eventually I heard about the vehicle she was gonna purchase, and it was beyond her means at the time by alot..

so she being the rebellious sort, it was gonna be a battle to change her mind by speaking to her directly.

I then stopped into the dealership, and the young salesman we typically dealt with was a local guy from a local farm family who I have great regard for, to have a confab with.

Our conversation went in this manner, “
we have bought a fair amount of vehicles from you, and I hear that my daughter has something picked out, ( he indicated that it was a fact), both you and I know this vehicle is beyond her means at the moment( dad and mom were not kicking in) so my advice to you would be to find something nice in her affordability range.” 

Or else........

it was amazing when somebody is properly motivated what they can achieve. He found her a similar vehicle with a few more miles at half the money.
the vehicle served her well for many years.
