SE Minnesota | When my wife moved in with me she insisted on paying rent to make it "fair" she didn't have a lot of money as she was in college at the time so I think I told her $200 a month and she had just got her tax return so she paid me for the year in February of last year when she moved in. This was a big step because it wasn't just her moving in, it was her and her two children. We got engaged in March and married in August of last year, when you find the right one you know it. Whether it is right or wrong we still have separate checking accounts and she pays for groceries, most of the time when we go out to eat, and things for the kids and I pay for the house and utilities, but if she forgets her wallet I will pay for groceries or sometime I will just pay when we go out to eat and we don't worry about it, I think this works out really well for us, your results may vary. | |
