Guys are learning the hard way this year. Plant don't need hardly any besides some starter until V-6.
Is it only because it makes it easier for YOU ? Sidedressing is and always has been the way to do it. Give it to the plant right when it needs it.
Put on 30 lbs of N with the planter, then come back with NH3. Why is the hell with N overpriced beyond beleif would anyone preplant N this year is beyond me.
