Bob...I have noticed the same thing I have been called hon, honey, dear, sweetie and darlin. Mostly at quick shop and grocery check out by younger girls. I think they do it to make you feel that it is a friendly place and they want you to come back.


Now I'm somehat disappointed. I never get called pet names by the younger girls. But the lady at the grocery checkout last time I was in town called me "hon". She is probably old enough herself to collect Social Security. I must fit a different demographic ;-)
