south central MN
My wife is a Third Dan in Tae Kwan Do and in the gym everyone is Mr. Or Miss and then their first name and all Black Belts are Sir or Ma'am. It is strange at first to address people this way but becomes natural as the Black Belts really do deserve to be respecteded by the lower ranked students. So to me being called Sir or Ma'am would be a an honor as to my having earned their respect.
