Well stated,

My Dad prepared me well for the time when he would not be here to help. It was one of the greatest things he ever did for me.  He often said you better figure out how to do this yourself as I won't be here much longer. Sadly he somehow knew his time would be cut short in this world.

From reading here, several don't seem to appreciate what their Dad's and Granddads and family elders have to offer in the ways of wisdom and advice. I'd tell them to start listening and start respecting what you are being told.

Someday you might understand the importance of all of this but probably not until it is too late.

All of my most influential elders have left this world, Dad will have been gone 15 years in September, Grandpa 28 years in December, ,Dad's Uncle 27 years in October and my Uncle 40 years in August. All of them shaped me and prepared me well but I still miss all their wisdom, perspective, ideas, stories and history lessons.
