SCIA
SOn and I had this discussion yesterday. 30ish years ago Dad sold farm and we moved to southern IA. He had had one sale and did not want to have another. So, we, his kids, were given what ever we wanted of his stuff, shop supplies, ect.
They took what they wanted, I told dad, as we were here not there, load what ever you think and send it.

Got 2 53' van trailers full to the top. Siblings said, later, what do you want all that junk for? Well, we were working on a KInze 3800 to other day and needed some shim washers.Went to Granpa's filing cabinets, opened draw 2 in cabinet 3 and pulled out what we needed.

SIL jokes that when the next generation is fixing stuff in the shop, they will say" Go to Greatgranpa's cabinets and it will be there.

Guess what I'm trying to say is Do not make fun of either way, as both are needed in a balanced approach to maintainence.
