First off, I AM NOT TAKING SIDES HERE. I'm sort of in the middle of the age group and have seen both sides of your dilemma. Have you lived through the great depression like your father? Times were pretty darn tough and you made do with what you had--- if you had ANYTHING! As for your side, yes, your dad should shuck out a few more dollars and repair things properly. Kids today don't have a clue as to what their parents went through and parents today don't have a clue to what it's like being a son or daughter that wants to keep things maintained properly. I guess if I had to be the judge of your case----- I would simply ask-- "who's paying for it" ??? LOL. Just bite your tounge sometimes and love your parents and respect their wishes...... someday they'll be gone and your kids will be saying the same things about you :-)
