North Central Illinois | Traveling teams were kind of a thing when our girls were growing up. Both of our girls were approached to play on traveling teams. One for softball and one for volleyball. Neither one wanted to do it and I was grateful for that. It sure looked to me like it didn't leave a kid much time for being a kid. Practices several times a week at odd hour along with constant travel were a couple of things that were unappealing about it. It sure looked like another case of some parents who were failed athletes trying to live vicariously through their children. | |
