1 hour east of ol cheyenne | Never use a cable or tow strap in combination with a chain. Took a young mans head right off when I was a kid the tow rope stretched and the chain slingshot right through the back window on the tractor killing him instantly. That happened about 10 miles from home... The locals talked about it for quite some time.
Running the chain through several car tires at thirds of the length will contain the chain should it break when pulling. They can fly one or both directions.
Only use screw type clevises as a pin clevis can spread and become a projectile especially when used with a tow rope or cable.
Apply load slowly DO NOT JERK!!
