What is the danger pulling a 30 ton truck with a tractor, using 3/8 chain extended 30 ft. If the chain breaks, will it "fly" back at the tractor like a cable will do. I did unstuck an oil truck with the tractor. Friend said I could have been injured if the chain broke. I think the weight of the chain would just pull it to the ground and friction would stop it. I did hear of a guy being cut in half by a cable, but they stretch a lot more than a chain. What say you???
